Owner and Dealer of Shea Automotive Group McKenzie Miller Communications Queen of Shea Automotive Group September 22, 2021 The auto industry didn’t start in Flint, Michigan, but it surely was the catalyst for the massive cultural and economic explosion that came later. With William C. “Billy” Durant and his salvaging of Buick and Oldsmobile, elevating of Cadillac, creation of Chevrolet, and invention of General Motors, everything changed.
Flint boomed and so did the automobile business in the community. Part of that long-standing tradition included the automobile dealers and the nationwide network that Durant originally set up, which blossomed in to an industry of its own. As times changed so did the model, and now at its most complex and influential apex it is being led by an increasingly more diverse group of business people. Women-led dealerships are still clearly the minority, yet they are some of the fastest growing and most entrepreneurial of them all. Locally that baton has been picked up by Shea Automotive and its leader, Stacy Fields. She has assembled a very women-centric team, along with a business model that is intended to make the car buying experience particularly friendly to women. They’ve done all of that and more. Mckenzie Miller is the voice and face of Shea. Her dazzling smile and effervescent personality are featured prominently on the shea television advertising and communications. Not only is Mckenzie the Communications Queen of Shea, she is popularizing the firm’s mantra “Just Sheaing” with every new commercial. Together Fields and Miller, along with their team, are taking the rich legacy that Flint and Genesee County offer the motoring world, and infusing it with their own unique blend of salesmanship, service, and community involvement. It’s a triple play that suggests a long and profitable future, both for Shea and the community that they serve. It was a lot of fun digging in to this story and getting the details straight from these history-makers in the Vehicle City. |
